Test Cube

Description- First I got a slab and cut out four squares. I let the clay get hard. Then I scored and slipped the sides together.

Analyzation- I used shape, balance, porportion and color. The shape was the squares and on both sides it shows balance and porportion and the many colors I added demonstrates that principle.

Interpretation- I did this to test different glazes. I tested aqua and cream underglazes. Then I tried burgundy, medium blue and lilac overglazes.

Judgement- The piece ended up not being that even but, it did serve the purpose I needed it for.

Pinch Pot

Description- I started by making a pinch pot bowl. Then, I decided to place feet at the bottom that ended up looking a lot like an elephants feet. After seeing the feet I decided to make an elephant. I flattened out some oval ears scored and slipped them. Lastly, I made the trunk scoring and slipping that as well. I then underglazed it with aqua and overglazed it with medium blue.

Analyzation- The element I mainly used was shape. The entire piece came from a ball of clay. Made circular feet and oval ears. The next element I used was proportion I tried to make the porportions the same on each side to also, create balance. Color was also used to add a distinction that wouldn't be forgotten.

Interpretation- There is no particular meaning behind the piece. The inspiration came to me when I was in the process making it.

Judgement- I really like the piece of art I created. Everthing about it I like. The one thing I would change is the smoothness of it. The texture of the piece isn't even. I would use a tool to even it out more.
